In this final instalment of Ghost Box’s Study Series singles, Belbury Poly collaborate with Brighton based cabaret electronics trio, Spacedog. In exploring their overlapping areas of interest they hit on an new soundworld haunted by Jenny Angliss’s mannered vocals, Sarah Angliss’s elegant theremin and electronics and Jim Jupp’s dusty analogue synths. “Find Me” is a spooky piece of chamber electronics inspired by early wireless experiments. “Quiet Industry” is like a half remembered soundtrack to a Schools and Colleges programme, twisting field recordings of old textile mill machinery into a rhythmic and melodic homage to Ada Lovelace’s “Poetical Science”.
Study Series 10: ‘Message and Method’ is out on October 16th and is available through Ghost Box Records’ very own Ghost Box Shop, as well as various Independent record stores worldwide*. Customers who purchase the vinyl through Ghost Box will receive a free download.
